If you’re looking to lease or purchase a Mercedes-Benz near Clarks Summit, PA, MotorWorld answers the call.  We have the inventory you’re looking for at the pricing you want, and we back up every purchase with unrivaled after-sale support. This includes repairs and services, among the most important of which pertains to tires.

Been driving with the same tires for a while? Here’s a handy way to confirm whether you need some new ones. It’s called the penny test, and all you need is – you got it – a penny.  Find a spot on one of your tires where the tread appears the lowest, and stick the penny upside-down between two tread ridges. If any part of Abe Lincoln’s head is concealed by fine, Mercedes-Benz-approved rubber, your tires are still good to go. However, if you have a full view of the ex-president’s head, it’s time to visit us and switch out your old tires for new.  This will typically happen around 40,000 miles, but in-between you should plan to drop by and have your tires rotated every 6,000 – 8,000 miles.  Doing so will ensure that wear is evenly distributed, and not concentrated in one spot.

Speaking of wear, there are a few kinds you’ll want to look out for, and which can be avoided if you keep your tires properly inflated. If your tires are worn in the middle but not on the sides, it’s a sign of over-inflation – and if the opposite is true, with the sides worn but not the center, this means your tires are underinflated. There’s also a tire wear condition called “feathering”, which can result from poor wheel alignment.

If you have questions about tire inflation, or you’re on the prowl for a new Mercedes C-Class near Scranton, PA, we’re at your service!
