The base Mercedes-Benz GLA is the 250, and it comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Two other engines are available:
- AMG® GLA 35: Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque
- AMG® GLA 45: Turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 382 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque
A smooth-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard with all engines.
Acceleration
The Mercedes-Benz GLA is an extremely quick car, as the 250 will get you from zero to 60 in just 6.7 seconds. If you go with the AMG® GLA 35, that goes down to 5.2 seconds. And the top-of-the-line AMG® GLA 45 has a zero-to-60 time of just 4.4 seconds.
Handling
You’ll be eager to take your Mercedes-Benz GLA out on the road no matter where you go, as it has great handling. Thanks to strong brakes and sharp steering, it effortlessly tackles sharp turns and curves. And if you opt for the AMG® GLA 35, you’ll get a sport-tuned suspension, AMG®-tuned all-wheel drive, and a sport exhaust.
