If you're thinking about going green with your next luxury car purchase, Mercedes-Benz of Wilkes-Barre has plenty of options for you. We can help you find an electric vehicle that offers a premium driving experience, and we can answer any questions that you have about Mercedes-Benz EV charging.
The most important thing to know is that there are three different charging levels, each of which refills your EV battery at different speeds.
Level 1 Charging
This is the slowest charging level. You can plug in your EV or plug-in hybrid to any outlet to get this level of charging, but it's simply not going to be sufficient for most drivers who rely on their vehicle every day. Each hour of charging is going to add just a few miles of range, so your battery is going to be nowhere near full even after a good night's sleep.
Level 2 Charging
This level of charging makes it a bit easier to turn an EV into your daily driver. You need a more powerful outlet, like a 240V outlet that can power a large appliance like a clothes drier. You can also install a specialized charging station for your EV. Most public charging stations are also level 2 chargers.
This level of charging can add far more range, 10 to 25 miles per hour. That means that an overnight charge is more than enough to fill the battery of one of our Mercedes-Benz EQS cars.
Level 3 Charging
This is sometimes known as DC fast charging. These types of chargers can be found at some rest stops and gas stations. They're perfect for when you're taking a road trip because most EVs can recover the majority of their range in under an hour when you're using one.
