All-New Mercedes-Benz GLE on Display at Los Angeles Auto Show

The Los Angeles Auto Show exists to get the auto industry excited about what’s to come, and after reading up on the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE set to hit our Wilkes-Barre, PA dealership next year, we only have one thing to say: mission accomplished.

A number of innovative new features are sure to make this a must-drive vehicle here at Mercedes-Benz of Wilkes-Barre. 4MATIC® fully variable all-wheel drive will be available for the first time on the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE, allowing drivers to control the torque distribution between the front and rear axle from zero-100% by selecting their preferred driving mode. E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL is an industry-first. The fully networked hydropneumatic active suspension sits on a 48-volt platform and works in combination with a newly-developed air suspension. It is the only system on the road that allows spring and damping forces to be controlled at each wheel. This enables the system to counteract body roll, pitch, and squat.

Active Stop-and-Go Assist equips the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE with the ability to provide driver support in stop-and-go traffic up to 37 mph. The system can keep the vehicle in lane and maintain a safe distance with traffic ahead. When a traffic jam is detected, another great feature—Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®—reduces vehicle speed accordingly to around 60 mph. This allows Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function to deploy the brakes if needed in order to avoid a collision.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLE will have a longer wheelbase than previous models, creating more space throughout the vehicle, with the biggest gains going to rear-seat passengers, both in terms of legroom and headroom.
